Term Two, Day Thirteen

New Beginnings

all about smith: just blaze
Woah, can’t believe it’s the last day of the Academy 2006. A big shout out to all the Melburnites who’ve shown such generosity of spirit and such tumultuous dancefloors – a thriving, jiving scene if ever we saw one. With bunnies at an absolute minimum. Term Two, Day Ten

Hip to Be Disillusioned

Call a Cab, Frenchie: Stephen Mallinder of Cabaret Voltaire
Floor three has always been a pretty hot spot – after all, it’s the place where the music gets made. But today, the work rate, special moments and all-round chops hit a new high. In studio 6 there’s an All-Star listening session: The Mizells, Skream, Zinc and Benji B are deep in headnod to the tune Zinc’s been working on with the whole Academy massive. So far he’s marshalled Larry Mizell, Daniel Brandt and Aloe Blacc into the mix and it’s sounding – how else could we possibly put it? – sick.

Monday On My Mind

Music Is Our Sanctuary
Mondays. Bob Geldof doesn't like them. Must be something good about 'em, then, yeah?
