Fade To Black
As we gingerly made our way down the fire escape steps down into the lower ground belly of
CAMP, we thought it was rammed. Turned out the throng were just chuffers, but it was still rammed, as we sqeezed into the 'no frills, no distractions' venue. Loads of faces turned out for this one, as the allure of
Morgan Geist and
Maurice Fulton playing together for the first time proved temptation too great.
Andras Fox and Mark Fader warmed everyone up nicely, Mark making the most of his allotted slot: the final set from a participant, he made sure he soundtracked the first term with tracks like Smith & Mudd's The Messenger, forthcoming
Elevator People tunes, and rounded off with Stupid Set's
Don't Be Cold In The Summer Of Love.
Maurice Fulton treated the crowd to plenty of unreleased BubbleTease Communications niceness including a new MU tune - sheer lunacy. Plus boogie and disco staples like Young & Company
I Like What You're Doing To Me, Eddy Rosemond's Funk It and dance rock with Chilly's
For your Love. Maurice kept it gas face throughout, particularly after being pestered by a couple of fan boys. But despite the idiots, the dance got down in fine fashion, and Morgan picked up the baton at a marathon pace, weaving in Environ and Prelude staples from D-Train, Detroit techno classics, and a grande finale with Jones Girls'
You Make Me Love Somebody Else.
Amid tearful farewells, rushed packing and hastily swapped CDs, across town a taxi-full of disoriented ravers spilled out the street, and realised they were far from home... The morning always brings clarity, and everyone's much closer than you think. Reach out!
