Krime plays (and so does Dunloop)
Mr. Krime, a participant of the Red Bull Music Academy in 2000, has been recorded recently by
Red Bull Music Academy Radio for a Polish On The Floor special. Hailing from the city of Krakow, this turntable wizard’s musical journey began at an early age, studying violin and piano for over 12 years as a kid. It was when his older brother MK Fever introduced him to Run-DMC’s Raising Hell though, that things started to get off and rolling. Krime was blown away by what Jam Master Jay did to his MK1200's, and after the two siblings got a set of some cheap belt driven turntables themselves, young Krime took first baby steps and learned it all the hard way.
Over the years Krime made a name for himself in Eastern Europe, released a bunch of mix tapes and cuts, and became the first Polish ITF champ. In the following years his musical style evolved and he started to dig a large variety of sounds from soul to drum ‘n’ bass. Most recently he's been working on a project alongside Polish scratching don
DJ Eprom, as well as the country's No. 1 drummer
Krzysztof Dziedzic.
This On The Floor session features him wrecking the Chill Out Club in Wroclaw, Poland, alongide key wizard
Jim Dunloop, who’s mostly known for his work with another Academy participant, Berlin’s
Marc Hype.
