B plus: The one like Benji B on the decks of City Hall
Our boy Benji B is a tireless explorer. Piloting his weekly 1xtra radio show,
Deviation, through the freshest sonic galaxies, he had a direct bat-phone to the pace setters of curveball underground beats for time now. Here are five tunes that he discovered during his stay as a team tember at the Red Bull Music Academy in Barcelona.
I-f – Superman
Hadn’t heard this one before. Sounds like it was made in a bedroom and recorded on tape. (Real) electro heaven!
Mala – Living Different
Unbelievably deep tune from the Deep Medhi man himself. Played it off dubplate in his
lecture, and it blew my head off. Will be campaigning for a copy of this for the next few months. Serious.
Dorian Concept x Fatima – Woah Woah Woah (working title)
Just walked out of the studio where this is being worked on. Dorian did the music, Fatima recorded the vocal with
Wach at 7 am last night. Gonna be big.
Dawn Of The Dead soundtrack / unreleased track
As played by
Joel Martin of Quiet Village – absolutely incredible break/synth/library tune that bumps from start to finish. No idea where to get it. Ask Joel.
John Tejada – Electro Ting
It might have a slightly corny French girl all over it, but there is something undeniable about this club banger, introduced to us by the
Benjamin Zinc. A guilty pleasure? No such thing.
