Turn me up some: Ms Fati Fati in the booth in Barcelona
Taking a slot machine show tune and twisting it into something much less recognisable, our man from Tel Aviv, Michael Cohen, keeps it cohesive on this next Barcelona pre-leak, and together with the Dresden-Vienna alliance on MPC and synths, lays the table perfectly for Swedish once-removed songstress Fatima to stack layers of déja-vu on. She got game, boy.

Having dropped her golden vocals on one of last year’s anthems, the impeccable Unite by TettoryBad that was also featured on Karen P’s Broad Casting compilation on Sonar Kollektiv, Fatima has been busting vocal PAs from London to LA. Mix The Fugees with Sade, Quasimoto, and Minnie Riperton, into one big Studio Chu style collage, and you begin to get an idea of the psychedelic musical journey Fatima has begun.

Cohen takes his cue from the Native Tongues for maximum positivity, and if there's anyone who's contributed to hip hop building and uniting people, then chances are the one like Kohanov has checked them. When he isn't making beats and mixtapes for local crews, he's running MTV Israel’s website magazine or hanging in the studio with his band Cohen@Mushon who have recently dropped their debut LP Physical Fitness on the Hed Arzi label. He might have appeared on the Israeli version of Sesame Street, but that won't stop Beaker smacking up yo speaker.

Dresden-based DJ and producer Cuthead blares out slow and wobbly breakcore-influenced beats, fractured hip hop and a haze of glitch-ridden techno, with his Kunst:Stoff soundsystem. Here, this history student subverts the forces of his MPC1000 to chop up some additional boys noise, while Vienna’s Dorian Concept does what turned an increasingly notable part of the outernational post-boombap elite into firm followers: bring that essential childlike playfulness with a big pair of booties, to an armoury worth of vintage synths. Boom oida!
