Detroit's Kenny Dixon Jr. is known as one of the most elusive star of the house/disco/impossible-to-pin-down music scene, both baffling and influencing generations of producers with his inimitable production style and radical approach to media and the music industry. After his appearance at the Academy's roller disco jam at the Renaissance Rooms we managed to catch a couple of hours with the man himself.

Every inch the larger-than-life anti-celeb, the artist usually known as Moodymann proved to be a lyrical fountain of soundbites, ghetto rhetoric and fresh-from-the-streets realness.
