Another Black Tuesday for Signora Sensi and the other few still-standing defenders of Italian football pride. Luckily, Barcelona alumni Cécile and Delphi are on the spot to turn this depressing evening into a glorious night with a disco chugger of epic proportions, pepped up with a strong cup of Coffey.

Bridging the divide between the north and south (with a little help of Marco Passarani), these disciples of Santa Cecilia use every single second of this sweet 8:05 monster to make very clear they know how to say “you've got stars in your eyes” with the twist of a knob alone – why no one thought to give HAL an Italian accent, we'll never know… proper Italian job, my lover!

We’re not sure what it feels like to have a 909 instead of a pacemaker, but as a member of Rome’s Mafaldacrew, Valerio del Prete aka Delphi has been setting the ancient city on fire as a resident DJ for the Loaded! nights while his production work has resulted in an EP of arpeggiated delights on Pigna records. When this disciple of the Purple One takes you to the disco you’ll end up believing Rome, Chicago and Detroit are all part of one big city.

With Cécile, it’s a whole ‘nother story. It might have been a sign when a 5-year old Carlo Alberto broke the violin his grandfather gave him, trying to play it like a guitar. But 16 years later, Cécile has paid his dues, having studied piano at the Santa Cecilia music school in Portoguaro. He takes out any lingering violin-inspired aggression by remixing punk band Altro with the help of a Fender Stratocaster guitar, drum kit and laptop, and flexes a softer and more melancholic palette via his Satie-inspired Color A project – or tunes like this!
