Darren Ng aka Sonicbrat has been a very busy sound sculpter this year. Notably, he scored the soundtrack for the much-praised film Sandcastle, which was selected to screen throughout Cannes Film Festival as part of the International Critic's Week back in May.

Sonicbrat playing live during the Barcelona Academy
As the host city and date for the next Red Bull Music Academy have been officially announced yesterday, we keep banging out those tunes from the Barna vaults. For this beautiful tribute to Fabra I Coats, the defunct textile factory that housed the Academy 2008, Singapore’s top Brat Darren Ng collected sonic textures from textiles on the studio walls. Patchworked together with max/msp, he embroidered one of his trademark piano lines over the top.
