MAT64 describes himself as an “old-school SID squarewave extremist born to be the terror of the MAT101”. For his last one on Cervello Meccanico Records, Allegretto Con Moto Ma Rubato, this Rome-based Toronto alumnus usually packing nuff elektro krunch, totally flipped the script and rearranged a few of his videogame-inspired 8-bit pieces for “synthetic chamber orchestra”, as he puts it.

Tufan Demir at Toronto's Supermarket during the 2007 Red Bull Music Academy
Class of ’07 Tufan Demir recently showcased his modern ambient / contemporary classical project Sensible Sucker at an event during Frankfurt’s book fair, representing his home country Turkey, the Guest of Honour country at the “Buchmesse” in 2008. A recording of the show, that saw him perform alongside other respected Turkish electronic music artists, is now up as a download on his website.
