Red Bull Music Academy Culture Clash will return to Los Angeles on December 5, 2012 with four of the city's most respected collectives battling it out for bass supremacy.
Spearheaded by controversial mega-DJ Steve Aoki but also featuring a hugely diverse roster of artists ranging from hardcore vets Atari Teenage Riot to French electro mastermind Etienne de Crécy to London trio, the Scanners, Dim Mak are a driving force on L.A.'s exploding dance music scene and will return to Culture Clash with an even stronger line-up and sound. SMOG, who came in a close second to Stones Throw (pictured above) in the 2010 clash will be bringing their signature heavyweight dubstep sound to Exchange, with Friends of Friends and Jeffree’s both making their clash debut. Friends of Friends have been crafting a name for themselves on the blogosphere and global club scene over the last few years with quality releases from Shlohmo, Academy graduate Salva, edit kings LOL Boys, and Tomas Barfod (of WhoMadeWho fame) amongst others, running the gamut from slo-mo R&B and proto-trap to twisted disco and house. Lastly, Mad Decent's new micro-imprint / Tumblr blog / treasure trove for forward-thinking cool ish, Jeffree's, will bring out the big guns with a host of selectors and soundmurderers currently ruling dancefloors worldwide.
Each of the four collectives will represent a different sound from the L.A. music scene and battle to be named winner by the crowd. The Full line-up of artists will be announced closer to the event but with recent epic clashes in London, Toronto, and of course L.A., expect big tings to go down.
Doors open at 9pm, the event starts at 10pm. 21+ only. Get your tickets here.
