Red Bull Music Academy Session Omaha presents DJ Spinna
The application phase for the 2012 edition of the RBMA in New York City just started. Ever wondered what a day at the Academy actually feels like? Here's your chance to first-hand witness as true hip hop legend of our times, DJ Spinna. Have all your questions about the Academy and the application process answered, learn a thing or two and have some fun along the way. Ask an old school hip hop head and they'll say he was a cornerstone of hip hop's late '90s indie-uprise. Everyone from Mos Def, Talib Kweli to Phaorahe Monch boasted Spinna beats to prove their worth to the scene. Ask a house head and they'll instantly have memories of singing his monumental version of Shaun Escoffery's 'Days Like This'. It's true, there are other like-minded DJs/producers in the world comparable to DJ Spinna, but for the most part you'd be hard pressed to find someone that'll do it to Spinna's extent. And as no Academy day is complete without some proper late night damage, Spinna will be gracing the decks right after the Session at Omaha's House of Loom, starting 9pm. Make sure to RVSP here.
