Few people can claim quite such a significant place in history as Peter Hook. First with Joy Division, then with New Order, the bearded bassist has influenced people across the globe and practically reinvented the use of the bass guitar, copied by many of his contemporaries (such as The Cure, as his mother claims) and giving birth to what became known as the Manchester sound worldwide. Then the club he financed, 'The Hacienda', helped kickstart the dance scene in Europe, forever influencing of what became known as club culture.
