  1. So, Harvey would be pleased the give the original artists some money when they would ask for it...
Isn't that the wrong way around? If he's so happy to pay the original artist, why not ask for permission upfront. It's quite easy to find people these days..and if they'd say no they're plenty of other stuff to edit.

Also he makes a pretty arrogant statement (covered up as a "joke") about the original artists having to pay him for doing their PR by bootlegging them. That's the typical blown-up ego response of people being accused in the re-edit debate.
I really don't like Harvey anymore.

  2. Huh? You should listen again. He was explaining how it was back in the days. You shouldn't compare it to nowerdays. It was a small underground thing where no money was made. You can't compare it to nowerdays. Also i find Harvey is a very handsome guy with a good sense of humour. Respect his experience in producing and spinning records.

DJ Harvey is one of those figures in the dance music world whose influence is out of all proportion to his own fame. Known to some as that bloke who did the early hours slots at Ministry Of Sound, and to others as the driving force behind the Black Cock re-edit label, he's a cult icon to that crowd which looks back on the disco era as the birth of the dance scene. He was also an early exponent of the balearic sound, but it was as the prime inspiration behind London's nu disco of the late-'90s that he's best known for initiating the recent wave of obscure disco re-edits.
