Mixmaster Morris

Rising High, London, UK

The early days of rave and acid house have long disappeared. Mixmaster Morris seems to be the only living artefact from those times - but he's no dinosaur. He may well have been ennobled with the title "world's most legendary chill-out-room DJ", he is certainly the most original. Morris carried the torch of the original, hippie-style "peace and love" raves in the atmospheric secondary rooms. Ambient as a style was soon born, but not yet considered a genre. Today ambient has become somewhat of a cliche, but Mixmaster Morris still finds his second rooms, and still offers his own, subtle groove.
