  1. The best red bull lecture I've seen. Its a pity so much is edited out. I would love a copy of the notes he gave out.

  2. He's so on point! As always.

Daniel Wang

Balihu, Berlin, Germany

Daniel makes and plays gleaming, disco-influenced music that draws inspiration from early house and techno. Born in California, he spent seven years of his childhood in Taiwan before heading to New York to work in instrument and record shops. Sick of paying stupid rents, seeing a Starbucks on every corner and having to look at George Bush's face, he quit The States for Berlin in '03 and hasn't looked back. Daniel takes his music seriously - like, he used to be too obsessed making a good bassline but is now correctly concerned with structure and composition, that level serious. Wholesale sampling and loops are serious no-no's, ruling most hip hop and techno out of bounds. He records on his own label, Balihu, Morgan Geist's Environ, and Ann Arbor's awesome Ghostly International and is keen to make Japan his next move.
