Gilbert Cohen is better known as DJ Gilb'r. While growing up in the South of France, he realized that music would become the driving force in his life. Being heavily affected by the likes of mid-school hip hop stalwarts Public Enemy, De La Soul and the Jungle Brothers, Gilb'r discovered that his heart lay with hip hop. Landing a job as programmer for the groundbreaking radio station Nova, Gilb'r learned that there is more to music than just one genre. After spending some years with Radio Nova, Gilb'r decided to launch the critically acclaimed label Versatile Records releasing future classics by people like I:Cube, Joakim, Phil Asher and DJ Gregory.
