The French language offers an appropriate description of John Acquaviva: a bonvivant. It may sound surprising that Acquaviva has time for wine tasting, given the fact that record collecting has become a full time job. Does 50.000 records sound like a heavy burden? Together with Richie Hawtin, John Acquaviva founded the legendary techno label Plus 8 in 1989. But after 20 years behind the decks, he decided to stick with his long-standing DJ passion and recently discovered the genius of a few Dutch computer programmers. The idea for Final Scratch - at the time, a concept rife with science fiction - was soon born.
