Movement, Sao Paulo, Brazil
Patife went to a hip hop club when he was 11 years old and found something he wanted. His first turntable set up was a homemade combination of two hi-fi's and a primitive mixer playing on street parties and weddings from a garage or the back of a car. A self-financed trip to London in '97 allowed Patife to hook up with Bryan Gee and the Movement crew in London setting up Movement 98 upon his return. This connection eventually led to the Brazil EP scoring a massive crossover hit with Sambassin defining a new fusion of Brazilian music with drum 'n' bass and receiving worldwide attention.
