Kompakt, Cologne, Germany
Perhaps you've heard of 'schaffel', the off-kilter sidling brand of minimal techno, which a Cologne label named Kompakt virtually invented? If so, you've also no doubt heard of Schauffler, though despite his near-genre-defining remix of Quark, he's long since strode far beyond the borders of that rhythm pattern. Having been a student and employee of one of Germany's greatest techno success stories (Kompakt), he found that with tracks like Heroin and Mushroom his horizons did not become minimal but instead became claustrophobically panoramic like one very long and debauched night in a chandelier-filled karaoke maze. Recently he teamed up with another of Cologne's favourite sons (Michael Mayer) to form Supermayer: like a pair of Siamese Dr. Frankensteins, injecting your brain with cryogenically preserved techno-minimal-house-pop and more than a few 'smile' genomes. Here Comes Love, indeed.
The video isn't chonologically correct I think when looking at the transcript.
Hey Hessel,
thank you for pointing out this problem. Yes, you are correct, the video session parts are not in the right chronological order. Due to the migration and relaunch of the site, we still have a couple of issues to sort out, this is definitely one of them. We will try and take care of it as soon as possible and hopefully have the correct video uploaded in the very near future.
Thanks again,
Lars.
